INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ALARM SYSTEMS

Due to the nature of the alarm systems that Towcester Electrical & Security install and maintain, they require input and response from a number of other organisations. To facilitate this, certain data must be shared with those organisations. This section details those organisations and how they will handle the data supplied to them. The data may be supplied by Towcester Electrical & Security or by you directly.

Should you choose to share data about your alarm system with other organisations yourself i.e. your insurers, a third-party response service, etc. that data will not be covered under this Privacy Policy.

ALARM RECEIVING CENTRE DATA

To provide you with the correct response to an activation of your alarm system, it is necessary for Towcester Electrical & Security to share some of your data with an NSI approved Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) or to request that customers share these details directly with the ARC. This is a necessary step in the process of obtaining the correct response for your alarm activation. In effect, our customers must also become customers of the ARC to use this service.

Towcester Electrical & Security uses EMCS to provide alarm monitoring and a number of reporting services. EMCS will commit to protecting the data that Towcester Electrical & Security or our customers provide to them.

We will only use the personal information we collect to process the complaint and to check on the level of service we provide. We do compile and publish statistics showing information like the number of complaints we receive, but not in a form which identifies anyone.

We usually have to disclose the complainant’s identity to whoever the complaint is about. This is inevitable where, for example, the accuracy of a person’s record is in dispute. If a complainant does not want information identifying him or her to be disclosed, we will try to respect that. However, it may not be possible to handle a complaint on an anonymous basis.

We will keep personal information contained in complaint files in line with our retention policy. This means that information relating to a complaint will be retained for two years from closure. It will be retained in a secure environment and access to it will be restricted according to the ‘need to know’ principle.

Similarly, where enquiries are submitted to us we will only use the information supplied to us to deal with the enquiry and any subsequent issues and to check on the level of service we provide. To make a complaint contact: admin@towcesterelectricalsecurity.co.uk.
